An icon of the African landscape, the Marula tree is native to Southern, West and East Africa. Adapted over millennia to survive the harsh and semi-arid environment, these extraordinary conditions gave rise to this exceptionally rich, nutritious and moisturizing oil.
Sustainably sourced from the Marula Belt in the Limpopo Province of South Africa, the marula tree can yield up to 3 tons of the plum-sized fruit, which after falling to the ground is sustainably harvested by hand. Inside these aromatic fruits is the hard nut which protects the soft kernels, it is these seed kernels which release a precious luxurious oil rich in potent antioxidants and vitamins E + C.
The nut is expertly cracked by hand, a difficult and time consuming process, critical before extracting the sought-after oil. Cold-pressed and untouched by heat, chemicals or fragrance, our marula oil maintains its superior quality, potency, stability and efficacy. The oil is filtered to ensure it is 100% pure and adheres to strict cosmetic standards.
